They are calling for doubling down on safety in the face of the rise of COVID-19

Given the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases registered in the entity, the Secretary of Health, Silvia Roldán Fernández, has encouraged the population of Tabasco to double their preventive measures, mainly the use of masks indoors or on vehicles public to avoid contagion.

The state official pointed out that in the last week the number of cases has doubled; even if the number of hospitalized patients remains under control and there have been no deaths, thanks to the days of inoculation.

However, he warned that the only way to avoid new cases is for the population to become aware of the importance of maintaining the preventive measures, which have been promoted since the beginning of the pandemic, such as the use of masks, especially in closed spaces or with a high concentration of people; hand washing, healthy distancing, and most importantly, completing their vaccination schedules.

He stressed that the Ministry of Health maintains the Covid-19 detection test module at the Palacio de los Deportes, where totally free tests continue to be carried out on people who request them, so people who test positive must stay in a shelter household for a period of seven days, to avoid infecting other people.

He urged parents who have not yet vaccinated their children aged 5 to 11 against Covid-19 to take them to the nearest vaccination module and complete their schedules. In the case of the Municipality of Centro, the “Dr. Maximiliano Dorantes ”, where he will be vaccinated from 14:00 to 18:00 this Thursday and Friday.
