Ciudad Juárez.- Víctor Manuel GM, Edy GR, and Pedro MM, were arrested in flagrante delicto by elements of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) after foiling extortion attempts against a merchant.
According to information provided by the victim, he began to receive fraudulent and intimidating messages through Facebook Messenger, in which he was assured that if he did not deliver a large sum of money, he would be harmed, as well as his family.
Due to the foregoing, the affected person decided to immediately file the corresponding complaint with the North Zone District Prosecutor’s Office.
After receiving the complaint, on April 12 around 5:00 in the afternoon, a multidisciplinary group made up of the Public Ministry, Analysts and Investigative Police, began with the computer analysis of the social network from which the threatening messages were sent. .
Later, on April 13, at approximately 10:00 in the morning, elements of the AEI deployed a police intelligence operation, an action that allowed them to capture the three alleged criminals in less than 24 hours.
During the operation recorded on Avenida de los Aztecas and Boulevard Zaragoza in the Toribio Ortega neighborhood, they stopped at the moment they went to collect the money agreed as a product of extortion from those who said their names were Víctor Manuel GM, Edy GR, and Pedro MM.
These people were assured of a black cell phone that could be important evidence, as well as the amount of 5 thousand pesos in cash.
The detainees and what was seized were made available to the Public Ministry of the North Zone District Prosecutor’s Office, the authority in charge of carrying out the corresponding investigations for the alleged crime of extortion with an aggravated penalty.
