A Brazilian government official affirmed that there is a vaccination record against Covid-19 of the former president in the public administration Jair Bolsonaro, who during the pandemic had said that he was not going to get immunized and campaigned against its effectiveness.
This was stated in the last few hours by the Minister of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), Vinicius de Carvalho, to CNN Brazil, and clarified that the veracity of those documents found in the entity’s files is being determined.
Bolsonaro had determined the secret for 100 years of his vaccination booklet and like a large part of the world extreme right, he positioned himself against the mandatory nature of the vaccine, in addition to being proud to say that he would be the last to receive it.
The former president has been in the United States since December 30, when he left Brazil two days before the end of his term.
“The record exists, this is what we know. There is an official letter within the CGU with information passed by the Ministry of Health,” Carvalho said.
The record indicates that Bolsonaro would have received the single dose from the Janssen laboratory on July 19, 2021, in a first aid room in Perus, north of São Paulo.
On July 18, 2021, Bolsonaro was discharged after spending four days hospitalized for a gastric obstruction at the Nova Star private hospital in São Paulo.
The minister assured that it is investigating whether there was any alteration in Bolsonaro’s vaccine book within the Unified Health System (SUS).
The former president has been in the United States since December 30, when he left Brazil two days before the end of his term, and recently announced to the Wall Street Journal that he was preparing to return to the country in March to lead the right-wing opposition to the government of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Lula’s government determined from the first decrees of January 1 last the lifting of all the centennial secrets determined by Bolsonaro to various government actions
On the other hand, the Comptroller General of the Union announced that in 10 days the Army will lift the 100-year secret of the disciplinary process opened against retired General Eduardo Pazuello, the controversial former Minister of Health of Bolsonaro who was in office when the crisis occurred due to the lack of oxygen in the hospitals of Manaus, Amazonas state, at the beginning of 2021.
The open process against Pazuello dates from May 2021, when he had ceased to be a minister, but was still an active Army general and despite the fact that he was prohibited by his position, he participated in a party event outside of President Bolsonaro’s official agenda.
Pazuello managed to be elected federal deputy for Rio de Janeiro in the last elections.
Since the first decrees of January 1, Lula’s government determined the lifting of all the centenary secrets determined by Bolsonaro to various government actions, including the guest book at the presidential residence on the guests of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro.
