The Ministry of Public Health recommends that the pediatric population administer the coronavirus vaccine -during the winter school break in July- to complete the primary immunization schedule or get a booster, as appropriate.
The biologicals are available in hospitals, health centers and mobile vaccination posts located in different parts of the province. To receive a vaccine it is important to bring your identity document and vaccination card, if you have one.
It should be noted that the first and second doses can be given to boys and girls over 3 years of age.
To access the third dose, the person must be 5 years old or older and 4 months have passed since the application of the last vaccine against COVID-19, while the fourth is intended for adolescents 12 years old or older, with immunocompromise.
The undersecretary of Social Medicine, Susana Velazco, said that it is important that those children and adolescents who have not yet been immunized go to the health system, either to start or complete the scheme.
“Vaccines are a fundamental tool to save lives, since by administering a dose we are protecting ourselves and our loved ones,” he said.
Also, the official expressed that “immunization against the coronavirus shows its high level of efficacy in the statistics, since it helps to reduce serious illnesses and mortality.”
