A 5.5-month-old girl is being treated in a critical condition at the “Ippokrateo” hospital in Thessaloniki.
The infant even had to undergo a lengthy surgery to treat internal bleeding in the head.
According to information from thestival.gr, the mother initially rushed the little girl to the Papanikolaou hospital, which, however, was not on duty. The same information states that the mother went to Papanikolaou as it was the closest to their home. There the hospital staff provided first aid to the infant who was then transferred to the on-call hospital, “Papageorgiou”. There the doctors, after intubating the infant, deemed it imperative to transfer him to the Children’s ICU, in “Ippokrateio”.
Around 02:00 in the morning on Saturday, the little girl was taken to the Hippocrates. There, the doctors found that the 5.5-month-old infant had internal bleeding in the head and that he had to be operated on immediately.
So around 03:00 the surgery started which lasted for a long time.
The little girl is being treated at the Children’s ICU of “Ippokrateiou” and her health condition is characterized as extremely critical.
