In 2022, terrestrial television will be broadcast in a new standard. However, many recipients will have to buy a new TV or tuner. Some will receive a special voucher – PLN 100 for the purchase of a set-top box to receive terrestrial television.
Soon, in Poland, as in other European Union countries, there will be a change in the method of broadcasting digital terrestrial television – from the current DVB-T / MPEG-4 system to the more effective DVB-T2 / HEVC. The new digital television offers the possibility to receive more TV programs free of charge, in even better picture quality (HD / UHD).
For some households – those that receive only free digital terrestrial television (not using cable or satellite), the change of the standard will involve the need to replace the TV set with a newer model adapted to the change of standard or retrofitting the currently used TV set with a terrestrial TV set-top box. digital.
The case concerns over 2 million farms in our country.
