If we report the number of contaminations to the population, six of the largest municipalities in the department remain above the alert threshold.

This is the good news of recent weeks in the Var: the level of contamination has been declining in the department since mid-April. A clear trend (the incidence rate has almost been halved in 17 days) which is not yet reflected in the hospital, where the saturation of intensive care services has reached record levels in recent days.

For the week of April 23 to 29 (latest data available), the incidence rate stood at 231 in the department.

Among the 13 largest municipalities in the department (those with at least 15,000 inhabitants), several remain above this figure and even beyond the alert threshold, set at 250 by the health authorities.

This is the case of Toulon, La Seyne, Six-Fours, La Garde, La Valette and Saint-Maximin, where the incidence rate on April 29 was located in a range between 250 and 500.

In Hyères, Fréjus, Draguignan, Brignoles, Sanary-sur-Mer and La Crau, the indicator is on the contrary situated between 150 and 250. Special mention in Saint-Raphaël, where the contamination rate has fallen below 150.
