Nothing more is possible – at least when it comes to length: at 181 meters, the “Azzam” is considered the longest private mega-yacht in the world. It belongs to none other than Muhammad bin Zayid Al Nahyan, ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Diesel and gas engines with a whopping 94,000 hp power power the “Azzam”. Cost: around 530 million euros.
The “Apho” measures “only” 115 meters and reportedly cost “only” 315 million euros, but passengers do not have to do without luxury here. According to Lürssen, the mega-yacht features, among other things, “a highly efficient diesel-electric hybrid drive concept,” which was developed by the shipyard itself. An electric azimuth pod drive and a “state-of-the-art exhaust aftertreatment system” are added here.
The “Ronin” was completed in 1993, but it still sails across the world’s oceans in “immaculate condition,” writes Lürssen on his website. The owner was originally a Japanese businessman. Nothing is known about the price. However, the yacht, which somewhat resembles a combat ship, can be rented for around 340,000 euros per week.
