A total of eighteen well-known Dutch people come together in the castle in Limburg. Unlike with Who is the mole?, where the viewer can track down the ‘cheater’, is added The Traitors immediately clear who the three ‘villains’ are. They do everything they can to go home with the silver treasure themselves, set the faithful against each other and ‘murder’ a fellow candidate every night.

The game is a bit like the party game The Werewolves of Wakkerdam. Candidates at the large round table are also voted out weekly. The remaining twelve participants will be announced later.

The recordings are already over, presenter Tijl Beckand said earlier. “I haven’t seen that much tension, emotion and intensity during a recording period,” he said. “After two shooting days, a lot of participants were completely devastated because of the big mindfuck that this program brings about.”
