Friday night it was time for the semifinals in The Voice where the six remaining participants Tara Bloch-Vere (31), André Askeland Hagen (21), Madeleine Tverberg (23), Niklas Jung Hansen (29), Jørgen Dahl Moe (25) and Kirsti Lucena (35), gave the iron in the hope of securing final tickets in the singing competition.
This evening, the budding artists offered everything from rock ballads to calmer hits to full cheers from mentors and the audience in the studio in Nydalen.

Like the previous live broadcasts, it was the viewers who had the last word this evening, and who decided who went on to the grand finale next Friday.

When the voices were counted, it was Kirsti Lucena and Madeleine Tverberg who had to say goodbye to The Voice adventure.
– Victory in itself
When TV 2 met the voted participants after the broadcast, they took the loss with crushing calm.
– It’s actually going perfectly well. I’m very happy to have come this far. The top six is kind of a victory in itself for me, so I’m very happy. It would have been fun to go further, but now this road ends here, and then a new one begins, says Tverberg.

The 23-year-old describes The Voice journey as a very good and nice experience.
– What is the plan next?
– I think the road comes a bit by itself. But it will be to continue with music, and write more songs and see where it takes me further.
Lucena was also very happy that she had made it all the way to the semifinals.

GOT PRAISE: The Voice contestant Kirsti Lucena received much praise from the mentors for her performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. However, she did not advance to the final. Photo : Robert Dreier Holand / TV 2

– I’m having a great time, she shares to TV 2.
– I am very proud of what I have done and I have nothing unsaid or undone. I have had to unfold on everything I have wanted. The production has been so nice with all my wishes. It has been absolutely fantastic, she continues.
The Sandnes woman does not plan to be on the lazy side going forward.
– Now I’m going on tour with Maria Mena this summer, and then there’s a premiere of Chess at the Folketeateret, and then there are events and gigs all summer, plus Cardamom City.
Backstage also met TV 2 with two goalless, grateful finalists, André Askeland Hagen and Niklas Jung Hansen Hansen.
– It feels great. It is fantastic and it is such a wave of gratitude, says Hagen.

– To stand next to the two fantastic ladies, how do you think you should move on ?, he continues.
Hansen is almost speechless when he is asked what it is like to get a final place.
– I am pleased. I do not think I fully understood that I will be here until next week as well.
Here were the evening’s performances:
25-year-old Jørgen Dahl Moe started the show with one of Rihanna’s most famous songs, “Take A Bow”. He received standing ovations from the audience and mentor Ina Wroldsen (37) after the performance.
– It’s one thing to do songs that someone has written, but it’s like you should have written it yourself. You’re damn good. It’s an honor to work with you, Ina boasted.
She was joined by mentor colleague Yosef Wolde-Mariam (44), who thought Moe had come a long way since he appeared on The Voice stage for the first time.
– I have said every time that I am a fan of Jørgen. What I notice – I look back on the humble skater boy to where he stands now – self-confidence. You’re amazing, said Yosef.

Hammerfestingen Tara Bloch-Vere (31) dedicated the Bon Jovi classic “Bed of Roses” to her husband. Both the practitioner and the mentor were moved to tears afterwards.
– I need a handkerchief. My eyes are completely finished, said mentor Tom “Matoma” Stræte Lagergren (30) after the performance.
– Damn dad, this was absolutely gorgeous. I’m so proud, he continued.
Colleague Espen Lind (51) also agreed.
– A good song choice, you have a good voice. You have an authenticity. When you stand on stage and sing, you feel that you mean what you sing, he thought.

Dedicated song to the man: – The most beautiful thing I have experienced
–
Kirsti Lucena (35) sang a stripped-down, genuine version of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. The 35-year-old wanted to convey vulnerability, and link it to the loneliness she had felt during the pandemic.
– Kirsti, that was absolutely heavenly. I see you have gone into yourself and worked. I thought it was absolutely magical. Again I was taken to bed. I’m so innmari proud. It was absolutely beautiful, famous mentor Matoma.
– You dive into things more than most people. It dressed you tonight. I thought it was beautiful, Kirsti, Ina agreed.

Bergen resident André Askeland Hagen (21) delivered a charming performance of The Turtles’ “Elenore”.
Mentor Ina was excited about Hagen’s performance.
– You’ve come this far. From the message to making some “moves”. It warms my heart so innmari well. I’m so terribly proud. You deserve to go all the way, she praised.
Espen and Matoma were also impressed.
You have to download Tinder. There’s going to be a push in the store tonight. We are in the semifinals. I’ve always liked you. I do not know what world you are from, I think what you do is death cult, said Espen.
– You charm in the sink. That was full blast !, Matoma interjected.

Madeleine Tverberg (23) from Sandefjord went with a powerful version of the Chris Stapleton song “Tennessee Whiskey” to standing ovations from mentors and the audience.
Mentor Yosef was blown off the field.
– My God, what a rocket you are! Your vocals just get better and better. Wow, how raw you are, he said.
– I’m sitting here in full ecstasy. What you showed here tonight was so incredibly solid and good. We hear new aspects of your voice that we did not know you had. You were completely raw. I loved it, Matoma thought.

Finally, Niklas Jung Hansen (29) rounded off the semifinals with the James Bay song “Us”.
– Niklas, you fight the world ’s heaviest battle with yourself every time you go out on stage. You masterfully manage to take the nervousness over to weight, to authority. This song is in the middle of the fuse box. It is «perfect». It’s king, Espen thought.
Yosef and Ina thought the same.
– You’re fucking amazing, praised Yosef.
– You do not have to be James Bay, you can be Niklas, because you are completely raw, said Ina.

Despite the nervousness and impressed: – You are your biggest enemy

At the end of the evening there was also a reunion last year’s The Voice winner, Erlend Gunstveit (26) . Grimstadmannen performed his own song, “Run Away”, on stage.
Since the victory last year, the 26-year-old has toured with The Voice finalists Sofie Fjellvang and Maria Petra, as well as performed at the Diamond League tournament at Bislett. He has also released the singles “Family Name” and “Skyline in Blue”.
When asked what it was like to make a comeback on The Voice, Gunstveit’s answer was the following:
– Completely raw. Being an artist – it has been a dream come true. It has been hard work from day one, and then it has been fun to travel around playing and producing albums.
