1. Bordeaux / Bègles / Floirac – Pont Simone-Veil: Bouygues relaunching
The Simone-Veil bridge site has been at a standstill for two years, due to the departure of the builder Fayat, against a background of technical disagreement with the client, Bordeaux Métropole, concerning the construction process. A dispute which should result in four years of delay in the delivery of the eighth bridge in Bordeaux. But the unlocking is near. Two weeks ago, the Metropolitan Area’s tender committee appointed a new manufacturer: Bouygues TP Régions and its subsidiary Pro-Fonds. The latter must restart the work in April, after preparation of the site in January 2021.
Of the work carried out by Fayat, there remains the pier, a work which juts out onto the Garonne, leaving a passage for navigation, and which must be used for the construction of the Veil bridge. Remember that the latter must connect Bordeaux, Bègles and Floirac, downstream from the Mitterrand bridge, over a length of approximately 450 meters.
