NEW YORK — New York City has just marked two years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented crisis that fundamentally changed the way people live.
The pandemic was one that claimed the lives of more than 40,000 city residents as two boroughs emerged as America’s deadliest counties during the peak of the battle against the virus.
Now, life is returning to a new semblance of normalcy. The raw photos show just how abnormal he had become.
