Lille. Six French folks had been arrested after the theft of a Ming vase, stolen in April from the royal museum of Mariemont in Belgium and located on Tuesday in Roubaix (northern France), French police and Belgian prosecutors stated on Thursday.
This Sixteenth century Chinese language porcelain was the goal of thieves, who entered the royal museum on the evening of April 20, stated the pinnacle of the regional judicial police service, Suzanne Moser.
The thieves solely stole this piece with an estimated worth of 20 million euros, however they broke its cowl throughout the theft.
The museum had obtained a ransom demand of a number of million euros, the police chief stated.
Following investigations launched by Belgian authorities, an unlimited cross-border police operation was organized on Tuesday.
