These innovations may be missing from the Samsung Galaxy S23 mobiles

Although the Galaxy S22 models have done quite well and are relatively popular, the really big, revolutionary innovations have been left out, in fact, Samsung has not touched certain features since the S20 series (or even earlier). Many must have hoped that the S23 series would bring salvation, but according to the latest news, several important innovations may be omitted.

Will the camera hole disappear? Not likely…

Since the Galaxy S10 series, Samsung’s flagship mobile phones have had a camera hole display, which is perhaps not as bad as notch solutions, but it is still far from perfect. That is why the manufacturer has been working on its completely hidden, barely visible camera under the display for many years, and last year the development was put to the test with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Many hoped that the technology would mature quickly and that the camera hole would finally disappear with the Galaxy S23 series, but the chances of this are relatively small.

It is probably the case that the quality of cameras mounted under the display is still far from that of traditional solutions, so Samsung is not yet ready to introduce them. The situation was different with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 because there are several other options for taking selfies. Only the internal display had a new type of sensor, the external one received a normal camera hole solution, and you can also take selfies with the main cameras when opened.

By the way, other manufacturers are a little braver to the question, ZTE, for example, is already on the third generation, most recently the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra was installed with such an invisible selfie camera.

In the near future, Samsung may install a similar solution in the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy S23 owners will have to make do with the camera hole display, although the front sensor is said to be improved, the 10 MP sensor that has been used for many years will be replaced by a 12 MP unit can be replaced by the manufacturer (for the two smaller models).

200 MP-es camera?

Samsung has already presented two 200 MP mobile cameras, but it looks like they were made primarily for sale, not for personal use. The ISOCELL HP1 announced last year may debut this month inside a Motorola mobile, and the ISOCELL HP3 unveiled last month is not even a high-end solution due to its small pixel size.

Previously, a lot could be heard about a new, improved 200 MP camera being prepared for the Galaxy S23 series, but according to the latest information, this may not happen, probably even the Ultra model will not get such a high-resolution sensor. Of course, as we know, the number of pixels is only one thing, regardless, it can be assured that the top models of 2023 will come with excellent cameras.

Better telephoto camera?

Also fresh news, that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ might get the same 10MP 3x telephoto camera as the previous generation, so there won’t be any progress on that front. However, it is not yet known what will happen with the other sensors, and the details of the camera system of the Ultra model are not yet known.

Finally, it’s important to note that while Samsung is probably already well into development of the S23 series, it’s still a long way from its debut, and there’s a good chance they haven’t finalized all the features yet. So we don’t know for sure yet, the more specific features will most likely only be leaked towards the end of the year.
