Airports in Bavaria
In Munich the situation looks like this: At the airport of the Bavarian capital, you can be tested for free for a long time. Travelers will find the test center in the medical center of the airport in Terminal 1, Area E. The Munich Airport Center (MAC), on level 4, is now also the Corona test center.
At the airport of Nürnberg The Corona test center that has now been provided can be found in parking lot P7. Here, travelers can be tested for free.
Airports in Berlin
In the capital, at the airport Berlin Tegel, there is also a corona test center for travelers from risk areas. This test site is operated by the Charité and Vivantes and is no longer in Terminal A, but from now on in Terminal D and is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, it should be noted here that the test offer is initially aimed exclusively at travelers who no Show symptoms of COVID-19. The traveler must register on site. The result of the corona test is then available within 72 hours.
Also at the airport of Berlin Schoenefeld Since July 30, there is no longer such a test center in Terminal Area L, but only in Terminal M.
Bremen is not applicable!
A corona test center has only recently been available at Bremen Airport, which was located in the airport’s arrival hall. Since, according to the airport, only a manageable number of passengers from risk areas arrived here – especially from the Turkish destinations Izmir and Antalya, this was purchased again. So there is now at Bremen Airport no Corona test center more!
airport Frankfurt
At the largest German airport in Frankfurt it is now possible to be tested for free, after the tests were previously available from 59 euros. In the so-called RT-PCR test, a swab is taken from the traveller’s throat and the result is available within six to eight hours.
The two smear centers are located between Terminal 1 and the long-distance train station.
Hamburg Airport
A corona test center was also set up at Hamburg Airport and recently another one was added where passengers can be tested. The first test center is located in Terminal Tango (arrival level, across from car park P1). Only (free) tests for returnees from risk areas are offered here. The second test center, operated by Centogene in Terminal 1 (Level 2), is only available for travelers from non-risk areas and the general public (but in this case for a fee).
Hanover Airport
Hanover Airport has recently also offered passengers the opportunity to be tested for the virus. The test center was set up on the arrival level parking lot in front of Terminal C.
Airports in NRW
The NRW airports Cologne-Bonn, Düsseldorf, Dortmund and Münster-Osnabrück have also started testing travelers around the clock. At those airports, the result should be available after 24 hours. Here, however, the tested people have to go into quarantine at home until the result. At Cologne-Bonn Airport, the test center is at the long-distance bus terminal, next to Terminal 2.
The test area at Düsseldorf Airport is located in the security area of the arrivals area, more precisely at the baggage carousel 19. The test points at the airports of Dortmund and Münster-Osnabrück are also located in the arrivals area. At some of the NRW airports it is only possible to be tested if you are entering from an area that has been declared a risk area.
Stuttgart Airport
Stuttgart Airport now also has a corona test center. This is located in Terminal 1 West and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
By the way: If a corona test turns out positive, all test centers automatically inform the health department.
Test centers are already being planned at many other German airports, but implementation is still ongoing. Others initially do not introduce any test stations, often also because those airports do not fly to risk areas.
Conclusion on the offer of the Corona test centers
The fact that more and more important German airports have set up corona test centers is very positive news. There has now also been significant progress in terms of standardization and passengers can increasingly rely on a common offer. In addition, some of the smaller airports are also preparing to set up test centers, which is also to be welcomed. Even though Bremen is no longer an airport. In the near future, however, more and more German airports should have test centers.
