The actor was marked by unseemly actions.
The picture “Seventeen Moments of Spring” has become one of the best military films in the history of Soviet cinema. Fans believed that this was achieved thanks to the magnificent Stirlitz performed by Vyacheslav Tikhonov. But few people realize that it was difficult to work with the actor on the set.
If director Tatyana Lioznova immediately understood that the film would be successful, then the artist was skeptical. He often came to the place in a bad mood, it took him a long time to get down to business. Also, the director was dissatisfied with the fact that Tikhonov was sometimes not ready for filming. For example, at the time of working on the scene of a conversation with Shepherd Schlag, the actor did not learn the text. Lioznova had to get out of the situation herself: she set the camera in such a way that Vyacheslav was practically invisible. The actor at this time read his text from a piece of paper.
Tikhonov also did not shy away from tax disputes. For one day of shooting, he received about 75 rubles, which seemed like a penny to him. Therefore, Vyacheslav scrupulously calculated all working hours and overtime.
