The Veenhuizen ammunition complex of the Defense Munitions Company is located in a remote area: between the prison village and Westervelde. Not a place you pass by quickly. The outside world was recently reminded of the existence of the complex. At the end of last month, just a few miles from the depot, a truck and trailer carrying ammunition pulled up. Houses had to be evacuated just to be safe. It went well.
