Host homeless people in the premises of his company, unoccupied during the night and on weekends, to allow them to sleep warm. This is the great initiative carried by the association Les Bureaux du Cœur, created two years ago in Nantes.
A roof and human warmth
The principle of this solidarity approach: the company provides a homeless person with a bed, a lockable cupboard, the employees’ kitchen area, sanitary facilities often including a shower. The accommodated person has independent access to the offices and leaves the premises around 8:30 am, after having had a coffee with the employees who are starting their working day.
The homeless, declared to the company’s insurance under the guest status, can benefit from this free accommodation solution for a renewable period of three months. The only conditions to benefit from this solution are set by the association: no behavior, hygiene or alcohol problems, no pets, ban on receiving other people and obligation of social monitoring. .
A social and professional reintegration lock
The association wants to be a ” drive belt “ serving “Inclusion, reintegration and return to work” of people living in precariousness. A successful initiative, as witnessed by Moustapha Dahmani, interviewed by France 3: ” It allows me to regain confidence in life. It was by coming here that I found a job, and now I’m going to look for an apartment. “
This commitment is also the pride of the company’s employees. « The day after Buba arrived, our first guest, one of my collaborators had brought him a suitcase to replace his trash bags, then we gave him his CV and we finally found him a job! There is a simplicity of help from person to person, you want a helping hand, I will help you, it’s quite magical ”, recount Pierre-Yves Loaëc, director of the Nobilito company in Nantes, and founder of Bureaux du Cœur.
