These clubs trained the World Cup riders

26 professionals will gather early next week to jointly achieve the fifth star for Germany. National coach Hansi Flick announced his squad on Thursday afternoon and did without the big sensations. Three big blockades determine what is happening: FC Bayern has seven players, Borussia Dortmund has five players in the German squad, and there are also six legionnaires.

It is in the nature of things that the best players in the country focus on the richest clubs in the country and financially strong international clubs. However, it is quite remarkable that traditional clubs are not represented in the squad. It is the first in German World Cup history without a single player from Hamburger SV, Hertha BSC, 1.FC Köln, Bayer Leverkusen, FC Schalke 04 and VfB Stuttgart (fussball.news reported). However, the latter two in particular are far from without influence.

Bochum as influential as BVB, S04 and VfB

It is no coincidence that Schalke and Stuttgart have been among the German clubs with the most respected youth work for decades. Four of the 26 World Cup drivers completed at least part of their football education at Schalke or with the Swabians. It is the highest of all clubs, which the duo also shares with Borussia Dortmund and VfL Bochum. The smallest of the three Revier Bundesliga clubs Armel Bella Kotchap, Leon Goretzka, Ilkay Gündogan and Lukas Klostermann did even more in training the German squad for the World Cup than FC Bayern, where Karim Adeyemi, Jamal Musiala and Thomas Müller have three World Championship riders were active when they were young.

Many changed when they were young

Examples Adeyemi and Musiala can also be attributed to record champions with some goodwill. The current BVB pro finally left Munich at a young age and completed the much more important part of his education at SpVgg Unterhaching. With Musiala it was almost the opposite: when the shooting star arrived at Bayern from Chelsea, he was promoted to professional within six months. Of course, you don’t have to part your hair: every station in the junior division has shaped the players who will represent the German colors in Qatar. And many of them didn’t spend their entire youth in the same club.
