Browse the ads, view the apartments, start over. Finding an apartment can be very tiring. It gets even more complicated with pets. Many landlords do not tolerate furry roommates, which greatly limits the choice of apartments in various large cities for dog and cat owners.
But some cities have a wider selection of pet-friendly rentals. The comparison portal “Savo“Has created a list of the most pet friendly cities in Germany. One criterion: the percentage of rental apartments that accept pets. Here are the top 10:
Most Pet Friendly Cities: Here you will find most pet accommodations and their owners
- 10th place – Hamburg: With a 2.93% share of pet-friendly rental properties, the Hanseatic city still has a few apartments where you can live with furry roommates.
- Platz 9 – Dusseldorf: The Rhenish metropolis took ninth place. Pets are allowed in three percent of the apartments in the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.
- 8th place – Dortmund: Another city in North Rhine-Westphalia was ranked eighth: Dortmund. With a 3.08% share of pet-friendly rental properties, the city in the Ruhr area has a little more choice than Hamburg and Düsseldorf.
- 7th place – Food: In the immediate vicinity of Dortmund, Essen is in seventh place. The city on the Ruhr has a 4.03% share of rental apartments where pets are welcome.
- Platz 6 – Frankfurt: In the city of Hesse, there is not only a spectacular skyline, but also a 5.56% share of rental apartments that accept pets.
- 5th place – Munich: Fifth place is in southern Germany – Munich. Pets are allowed in 5.91% of rental properties in the Bavarian state capital.
- 4th place – Cologne: The city of Cologne narrowly missed the podium in this ranking. The carnival stronghold offers a 6.59% share of rental properties that you can move in with furry companions.
