Billboard has ranked the 40 most lucrative musicians. At the very top is Taylor Swift (31).

Although 2020 was a year of little touring and concert activity, the biggest stars still earned fat. The list consists of more than Americans, but it is about money earned in the United States.

Taylor Swift reigns supreme – with an income of about 213 million kroner, according to the music magazine. The last time she was on the list was in 2018 – also then at the top. Swift has also topped several times before.

The detailed overview shows that even though the 31-year-old had zero income from touring, she raised close to 100 million on streaming and the same on sales. The rest of the sum is due Billboard from royalties.

Number two on the list is Post Malone (26), who the year before was in sixth place. He can boast an annual income last year of about 207 million kroner.

The rapper managed to tour before the pandemic put an end to it, so more than half of the sum comes from it. The rest comes from streaming, sales and royalties.

Ballade veteran Céline Dion (53), who last year shone with her absence on the list, cuts third place with 156 million earned kroner. Almost the entire sum comes from concerts, since Dion was already in full swing with performances early in the year.

Others who jump on the list after a long absence are the Eagles. The band, which can celebrate 50 years in the industry this year, earned a total of 146 million kroner. Just over 100 of these millions come from concert revenues.

In fifth place we find popnykommer Billie Eilish (19), but a total last year’s income of close to NOK 133 million. This is the first time she appears on Billboard’s annual Money Maker-liste.

Eilish earned the most on streaming and royalties – close to NOK 53 million on each of the two items. However, she managed to play three concerts before the abrupt stop, and as much as nine million kroner comes from these.

Among the top five on the list, we find in the following order Drake (34), Queen, The Beatles, YoungBoy Never Broke Again (21) and Lil Baby (26).

The Weekend (31) must look cheated for a place in the Top 10. He ends up in 11th place. The boy band BTS is ranked number 19.

Ariana Grande (28) took second place last year, but has to settle for a 23rd place this time. Kanye West (44) is in 30th place, just ahead of Justin Bieber (27).

In 2019, it was the Rolling Stones who ran away with the top spot, but in 2020, the British rock veterans “only” qualified for a 37th place.

Halsey (26), freshly baked mom, ends up in 37th place, right in front of Harry Styles (27). Rock group Aerosmith rounds off the Top 40 list with a total of 48 earned million kroner.

No Norwegians appear on the overview.
