These are Timothée Chalamet’s best films

Timothée Chalamet is promised to be many things: a Gen-Z heartthrob, an emo god of the red carpet and the brightest young star in Hollywood. In December we can once again see his immense talent, because in “Wonka” the 27-year-old will inherit Johnny Depp and Gene Wilder as the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka from Roald Dahl’s popular story. Born for the spotlight

Timothée Hal Chalamet was born on December 27, 1995 in New York City. The talent for art seems to have been innate in him: his father, Marc Chalamet, is an author and wrote for, among others New York Times; his mother, Nicole Flender, used to dance on Broadway, and his uncle, Rodman Flender, is a director and producer, while his aunt is a screenwriter. At a young age, Americans with French roots took on roles in commercials and short films and graduated from a performing arts institution.

With his striking blue eyes, his unconventional looks and his acting talent, he managed to conquer the hearts of many viewers in no time, even though he starred in a few flops at the beginning of his career, including the crime thriller “The Adderall Diaries” with James Franco and Amber Heard, and the comedies “Christmas with the Coopers” and “Hot Summer Nights.”

However, at the age of 17, he made a positive impression in the second season of the renowned thriller series “Homeland”: in eight episodes, Chalamet had a supporting role as the son of the US Vice President, who entered into a relationship with the daughter of terror suspect Nicholas Brody. His first major film followed a little later: in Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic “Interstellar” he played the son of Matthew McConaughey’s character. Chalamet finally achieved his big breakthrough in the coming-of-age drama “Call Me by Your Name” (2017), in which he played the sensitive Elio Perlman and was even honored with an Oscar nomination for it.

Timothée Chalamet: These are his best films

Our following review of his best films shows that the New York native has since shown a good hand in choosing his projects.

Hostiles (2017)

The historical drama tells the story of Army Captain Joseph Blocker (Christian Bale), who is supposed to escort the Cheyenne war chief, Chief Yellow Hawk (Wes Studi), back to his tribal land in 1892 – under his command: “Fargo” star Jesse Plemons, Jonathan Majors and a milk-faced Timothée Chalamet. At this point in his early career, Chalamet was actually an outsider in this Hollywood ensemble, and the only performer who had to audition for his role.
