A poster calling for a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) building circulated on social media. The demonstration also contains an invitation to: bottle throwing urine into the building Kominfo. What did the originator say?

“People are throwing pee bottles at the Ministry of Communication and Information,” reads the call on the demonstration poster as seen on Monday (1/8/2022).

“The estimate is about 50 people,” said Nat when contacted by detikcom, Monday (1/8/2022).

Nat also confirmed the plan to throw a pee bottle at the demonstration. Nat said that the participants of the action would later bring their own bottles of urine.

He called the action an expression of public anger over the Kominfo policy. “The action participants should have brought the bottle, right. This is only a place for public expression. We accommodate anger,” explained Nat.

Nat did not elaborate on the demands of his party’s demonstration this afternoon. He said they demanded Kominfo to be blocked. “Yes, we have blocked the Kominfo,” said Nat.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin said his party had not received any notification regarding the action. “We just got the flyer. I checked with Intel, it seems that there has been no notification,” said Komarudin.

Komarudin banned the demonstration of throwing urine. If so, the police will take firm action. “If we find it, we will secure it. We can’t,” he added.

As for this action, it is reported that Kominfo has taken anticipatory steps. According to a detikINET source, Kominfo civil servants have been directed by their superiors not to wear uniforms when they are at work. On Mondays and Wednesdays, civil servants in the scope Kominfo it is usually mandatory to wear a uniform.
