Although the first months of isolation were especially hard for the national automotive industry, the sector has managed to raise its head. According to the data published by the National Federation of Merchants, Fenalco, in association with the National Association of Businessmen of Colombia, Andi, car sales have been growing gradually to approach last year’s levels.
It is enough to compare the very poor figures for April (217 units sold), May (8,920) and June (11,961), against those of October (20,858), but especially those of November (22,330) that the variation with respect to the monthly sales of 2019 begins to land below double digits, with a difference of just 6.7%.
A great achievement if you also take into account that the industry reached these figures not counting the Bogotá International Motor Show, which was scheduled from November 4 to 16 and that, by historical tradition, it tends to double the sales of said month with respect to those of the previous year, as we remember that it is a biennial event.
However, and although the outlook shows a constant reactivation, the industry still cannot be trusted. After all, the 161,537 units sold so far this year continue to pale against the 232,659 that had been registered until the same period last year. The challenge will be even greater if we take into account that last December more than 30,000 vehicles were sold.
However, the industry maintains an optimistic face, while the list of best-selling vehicles shows a clear trend towards vehicles manufactured in Colombia, which tend to be more pocket-friendly. In this sense, we present below the ten best-selling cars in Colombia so far in 2020:

Other data from the Andi and Fenalco report showed that the five brands preferred by Colombians so far in 2020 They are Renault (34,938), Chevrolet (28,605), Mazda (13,447), Nissan (12,337) and Kia (10,873).
Additionally, it is demonstrated that the preferred segments in the national territory they are those of Automobiles, with 72,126 units sold, followed by SUVs with 56,518. Behind are the Pick-ups with 11,219 and the trucks with 6,666.
Finally, it shows that the public transport and freight sector has also been slowly reviving. In Colombia this year 6,112 trucks, 2,933 taxis, 2,164 buses, 672 vans and 448 minibuses have been sold.
