According to a spokesman for the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Mohammad Syahril, the suspect has received a negative test result for monkeypox from a sample examination in the oropharynx. However, until now there is no certainty whether the suspect is infected with the monkeypox virus. This is because the series of investigations is still ongoing.

“There were two samples that were examined. First, a mouth and throat swab (oropharynx). The results were negative. Second, a swab for rashes (pox). This is just a PCR laboratory examination process. There are no results yet,” said Syahril when confirmed detik.comThursday (4/8/2022) night.

Contacted separately, the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu explained a series of symptoms experienced by the monkeypox suspect. He also mentioned that previously there were nine suspected monkeypox with similar symptoms. However, the nine suspects have tested negative for monkeypox.

“So far, there have been ten suspected cases, nine cases with negative results. The clinical symptoms are similar to monkeypox (monkeypox) ranging from fever, rash on the skin and characteristically there are also vesicles on the hands and feet,” explained Maxi at detik.comThursday (4/8).

Symptoms from Day to Day

The Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, briefly explained the chronology and development of symptoms in the suspected monkeypox patient in Central Java.

Initially on July 19, the suspect had symptoms of fever. He was then taken to hospital on July 21. On July 24, the suspect began to develop symptoms of freckles.

“There is one (suspected monkeypox) in Pati district on July 19. Then the spots came out on July 24. On 28 (July) we took the sample and we received it on July 29, which is now being tested whether it is smallpox or monkeypox,” said Minister of Health Budi at the Palace, Thursday (4/8).
