This January 1st, and to welcome the New Year, the El Salvador band will hold a mega parade through the main streets of San Salvador, which will force the closure of some important sections.
This year’s band is made up of 600 young people who will tour the capital’s arteries starting at 4 in the afternoon until they reach the Historic Center where a musical show will be performed.
The Ministry of Culture detailed that the show will be composed of Salvadoran music arranged for the ensemble, and classic pieces from the bands repertoire that will be performed by the talented musicians of the Band.
“The ensemble, which was officially presented during the celebration of September 15 with 300 members, will appear this time with 600, after having doubled the number of members through a call that took place in October,” said the Ministry of Culture.
The parade will begin its journey at 4 in the afternoon from Plaza del Salvador del Mundo, to Plaza Gerardo Barrios, in the Historic Center.
Arteries that will be closed before and during the parade:
- Avenida Roosevelt
- Ruben Darío Street
- 1a. south avenue, between 4th and 1st.
Drivers must take this information into account to avoid inconvenience or getting stuck in congestion.
