These are the reasons for leaving home during the state of emergency

The declaration of a state of emergency will require the restriction of the movement of people to stop the spread of Covid-19.

According to a working document to which the JN had access, and which served as a basis for the meeting of the Council of Ministers this Thursday, there are several situations in which citizens will be able to travel.

See here under what circumstances you should be able to leave home:

– Purchase of goods and services;

– Performance of professional activities that cannot be performed from home;

– Acquisition of necessary and essential materials for professional activity, when it is performed in teleworking;

– For health reasons, either to obtain proper care or to transport third parties who need it;

– For reasons of urgency, as in the case of emergency reception of victims of domestic violence or human trafficking. Or travel by veterinarians, owners with animals in need of treatment, caregivers from colonies authorized by the municipalities, volunteers from zoophilic associations with dependent animals who need to travel to animal shelters and rescue teams from animals;

– For family reasons, to assist vulnerable people, people with disabilities, children, parents, the elderly or other dependents;

– For other imperative family reasons, such as compliance with the sharing of parental responsibilities, as agreed between the holders of the same or by the competent court;

– Travel to bank branches and agencies of insurance brokers or insurance companies;

– Short trips for the purpose of physical activity, with the exercise of collective physical activity being prohibited, considering, for this purpose, more than two people;

– Short trips for the purpose of walking pets;

– Travel by persons with free transit, issued under legal terms, in the exercise of their functions or because of them;

– Employees of diplomatic missions, consular and international organizations, international organizations located in Portugal, can move as long as these are related to the performance of official functions;

– You can also circulate who is returning home;

– Or to perform other activities of a similar nature or for other reasons of force majeure or imperative necessity, as long as they are duly justified;

– It should also be noted that private vehicles can travel on public roads to carry out the activities mentioned above or to refuel at gas stations.
