These are the places where you can buy the third dose against covid-19 in Arizona if you have immune deficient diseases | Univision Phoenix KTVW

TUCSON, Arizona. – Finally, the third dose against the coronavirus arrives to reinforce the two previous doses and Gabriel Yanes feels fortunate to be one of the first to receive it due to his medical condition.

“With the heart and lung transplant, I already qualified for the third dose”Yanes said.

The third dose comes at critical times where dozens of people are being hospitalized as the delta variant spreads.

“We have 11 intensive care beds in hospitals available,” said Dr. Teresa Cullen, Director of the Pima County Health Department.

The worrying thing is that every day more people are infected and saturate the hospital system. People like Yanes have had to live the confinement even more intense because due to his lung transplant, he becomes a more susceptible person to acquire the virus. He called on the population to think about what this means for people with his condition.

“There are people who only think about them, and there are other people who get vaccinated to have a normal life”Yanes added.

Who qualifies for the third dose?

To qualify for the third dose, people must have an immunodepressive disease and then make an appointment to be immunized, but authorities say they trust the patient’s word and that they will not ask for medical proof.

It is a patient-doctor relationship and trusting them is our priority, only their word will suffice, ”added Cullen.

As of September 20, the so-called “vaccine boosters” will be available to the general public, something that many hope to return to normal as soon as possible.

“Getting vaccinated is for good, don’t be afraid” Yanes said.
