The vaccination day against covid-19 for pregnant women, puerperal women and nursing mothers continues this Tuesday, October 26 in Managua, Ciudad Sandino, Jinotega and their municipalities, according to the calendar of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) published on the page of a public institution.
The Minsa is applying the Pfizer vaccine, which has been authorized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States for this segment of the population and is the one that after international clinical trials has proven to be effective and safe for pregnant women, who have just undergone delivery or cesarean section or breastfeeding.
According to the vaccination projection for this sector of the population, it is 111,735 doses to be applied. To date, 26,585 have already been applied, and 23.79% of the goal has been met, as announced on Monday by Rosario Murillo, designated vice president.
Neither the designated vice president and spokesperson, Rosario Murillo, nor the Ministry of Health (Minsa) officially indicated the vaccination points for the segment between 2 to 17 years old – who are injected with the Cuban vaccines Soberana and Abdala -, and from 18 to 29, who are inoculated with Sputnik Light, but this Monday the day began at the national level in centers and health posts.
