Werne. A new school bag, great anticipation and a full school cone – on Thursday the first graders started school in Werne. On the second day, the children had a special activity on their schedule – they posed for a group photo with their class in the schoolyard.
Previously, the approximately 110 children in the five new classes had taken part in a church service at the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Center in two groups on their first day of school.
The program was designed by Pastor Alexander Meese in cooperation with class 3d, which, on behalf of the entire school community, performed a welcome song for the new arrivals.

The children’s arrival in the schoolyard on Stockumer Strasse was impressive. The new pupils were ceremoniously welcomed by the other children, who stood in a line and waved flags.

While the children were having their first lesson, there was a reception for the parents in the school cafeteria where they were able to learn interesting facts about the processes at the primary school.

To capture the special day, the school also allowed parents to take photos of their children in the classroom after the first lesson.

We will also shortly introduce the new entry classes at the Kardinal-von-Galen-Schule in Stockum, followed by those at the Uhlandschule on Monday.
