jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Indonesian Political Opinion (IPO) Executive Director Dedi Kurnia Syah revealed the results of his survey that 72.9 percent of respondents said President Joko Widodo needed to do a cabinet reshuffle.

Telkom University political communication analyst said this figure has increased compared with a survey conducted during the 100 cabinet working days some time ago.

“At that time the respondent needed to reshuffle only 42 percent, but today the increase was very significant. The public who said they needed a reshuffle was 72.9 percent, “Dedi said in a discussion Waiting for a Cabinet Revamp which was broadcast virtually by a private radio station on Saturday (4/7).

Dedi said that the survey was held on 8-25 June 2020, which was conducted to see the public response to the cabinet in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This survey involved 1350 respondents in 135 villages in 30 provinces. The survey was conducted before the release of President Joko Widodo’s video, angry at a cabinet meeting.

Dedi explained from the number of respondents who said they needed a cabinet reshuffle, 57.4 percent felt very urgent, and 42.6 percent said they were urgent. In the survey, he also asked if there was a reshuffle, whether political party or non-political party leaders were the most expected to be replaced.

“Non-political figures were approved by 64.8 percent, while 35.2 percent said that non-political figures were more feasible,” said Dedi.
