These are the most famous serial killers in Mexico

Throughout this week, two cases of serial killers were unveiled: Andrés ‘N’ and Arturo ‘N’, who have been singled out as serial feminicides from Atizapán and CDMX, respectively.

So far, the corresponding authorities have been investigating both cases to identify the victims and the sentence that the criminals will receive.

However, the list of serial killers in Mexico it does not begin with them, because in the past there have already been records of others, who have become famous.

Fernando Hernandez Leyva, better known as Pancho López, was arrested in 1999 and to date is in the Federal Rehabilitation Center “El Altiplano.

The list of crimes he carried out is long, because according to his accusations, he committed more than 137 murders, six kidnappings and more crimes throughout Mexican territory. According to a psychological examination, he was identified as a psychopath, as he only did it for personal satisfaction.


A case extremely notorious for how terrifying was that of La Mataviejitas, identified as Juana Dayanara Barraza Samperio. Her story has been one of the most terrifying in Mexico as she was awarded 17 homicides and 12 robberies, although it is believed that she was the author of more than 40 murders.

“La Mataviejitas” is dedicated to wrestling, so she fought under the name of “La Dama del Silencio”, but outside the ring she pretended to be a nurse who cared for elderly women.

Once the elderly women allowed her to pass to their respective homes, they killed them with blows, with stabbing weapons or strangulation. He is currently serving his 759-year sentence in prison in the Santa Martha Acatitla prison.


The “cannibal of the Warrior”

José Luis Calva Zepeda, also known as “The cannibal poet”, He was a writer of novels, poems and plays who normally passed through the Condesa, Roma and the Chopo tianguis. However, he was leading a second life.

Calva Zepeda was the author of three murders of women, who are also presumed to have eaten part of their bodies.

In 2007 he was arrested, but while the investigation was being carried out at the murderer’s house, the police found the body of the mother of his children in parts; there were parts in the refrigerator, meat in the pan, and the trunk of the body in the cupboard.


The “Narcosatánico” and the “Godmother”

The Narcosatánico, identified as Adolfo de Jesús ConstanzoHe was the leader of the “Los narcosatónicos” sect, which not only engaged in drug trafficking, but also carried out human sacrifices.

The police discovered this terrifying sect in 1989 when they arrested a member of the sect he was arrested and confessed everything, including, he led the police to the meeting point of the sect.

This criminal group was joined by Sara Villareal Aldrete, known as “La Madrina”, who was in charge of performing all rituals and human sacrifices. According to testimonies, people were tortured, while their blood and brain were consumed by members for protection.

For his part, Adolfo Constanzo asked to be assassinated to avoid capture, while “La Madrina” is in prison after receiving a 647-year prison sentence.

Raúl Osiel Marroquín Reyes, dubbed “The Sadic”, was charged with murdering gay men within Mexico City. He looked for his victims in the Zona Rosa and after asking them out, he took them to a place to torture them to death.

But his crimes went beyond killing men, since he dismembered the bodies and placed the remains in suitcases that he threw in the Asturias neighborhood or near the Chabacano metro.

He was arrested in 2006 and received 128 years in prison as a sentence for the six kidnappings and four homicides he committed.
