These are the latest facts about Covid-19 Malaysia, making it scary

Jakarta, CNBC IndonesiaMalaysia reveal the latest facts about the Covid-19 case in the country. It turns out that in 2021, there will be more than 400,000 cases of infection related to individuals under 18 years.

This number is higher than that recorded in 2020. At that time, there were 12,000 cases recorded in the same group.

“The total includes 252,569 schoolchildren and 42,831 preschoolers,” wrote Named as quoted Channel News Asia (CNA), Friday (1/10/2021).

There were at least 67 deaths. This is far from last year’s figure, which was only six cases yesterday.

“It is our shared responsibility to ensure that children are protected from Covid-19 by ensuring a safe environment for them, including taking appropriate precautions and protection measures,” said Malaysian Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Meanwhile, Malaysia itself recorded 12,735 additional Covid-19 cases, Thursday (30/9/2021). This brings the total cases from the start of the pandemic to 2.2 million with more than 26,000 deaths.

The trend of Covid-19 cases is sloping when compared to August 2021. However, the trend is still above 12,000 cases a day.

Malaysia alone has vaccinated 86% of the population since the program was launched in February. Children and adolescents, ranging in age from 12 to 17 years, received injections from 20 September.

In his speech, Khairy said vaccines alone were not enough to provide protection from Covid-19. Everyone should continue to observe the “new normal” practices to avoid the risk of infection, wear masks and maintain hygiene.

“Among the things we need to do and practice among children are wearing masks at all times, washing hands with soap or using hand sanitiser. “Children should also not go to school if they are symptomatic or in close contact with Covid-19 patients and undergo screening at school entrances,” he added.
