TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – There are at least five of the most reports received by the National Commission (Komnas) on Post-Immunization Follow-Up Events (KIPI) both central and regional regarding KIPI Covid-19.

Chairman of the National Commission for Post-Immunization Follow-Up Events (KIPI) Hindra Irawan said the five were headaches, nausea, vomiting, muscle pain, and dizziness.

“That’s what most of them entered (the AEFI report) but it all disappeared for one or two days without treatment, sometimes they were treated but the big 5 got in,” he said in a virtual press conference held by the Ministry of Health, Sunday (4/4/2021) .

According to Hindra, AEFI is a natural thing because it is a reflection of a person’s immune response. For example, when being injected, the injection site is painful, red, or swollen.

“We give a vaccine, we give an antigen, we give a biological product, meaning the vaccine is efficacious,” he said.

Before the vaccine is used by the public at large, Hindra ensures that all these adverse events have been recorded and observed when the vaccine is undergoing phase 1 and phase 2 clinical trials.

For this reason, he said, the safety and efficacy of vaccines circulating in the community have been confirmed.

“Everything is recorded, the proportions are observed, if it is proven and recorded as safe, then the emergency use of the vaccine will be issued,” said Hindra.
