MÉRIDA.- The Infonavit It has at least three programs that allow borrowers to save money, however, unfortunately 90% miss this opportunity, said the general director of that institution in Yucatan, Jacinto Sosa Novelo.
Infonavit programs to save
Three of these programs are:
- Infonavit Solidarity Support,
- the Early Liquidation of the Credit and
- Cancellation of Mortgages.
How to access Infonavit support?

“The serious problem is that thousands of beneficiaries are afraid of the use of technology, they do not know how to navigate the Infonavit platform or they do not remember the email and password they were given to access digital information,” said the interviewee.
My Infonavit account, everyone’s task: what does it consist of?
To extend and facilitate Infonavit services, but above all to help the thousands of workers who have some pending with their credits and who can obtain economic benefits, be up to date or liquidate their homes, Sosa Novelo announced that in 2022 it will start the “My Infonavit account, everyone’s job” strategy.
It will consist of asking companies to enable some computers with internet in their buildings. From there, and with the advice of someone who knows how to handle digital technology, any worker can carry out the procedures from their workplace.
In addition, it will expand the coverage of the solutions fairs to the colonies of Mérida and municipalities in the interior of the State. From January 3 to December 27, 2021, Infonavit served 24,464 people in the office and 123 in the Plaza Grande.
How do I retrieve the email from my Infonavit account?
Another facility that Infonavit will give is that it opened a service section for anyone who has problems with their email or password to access the digital platform. “It is unfortunate that only 10% of borrowers take advantage of the benefits of the Infonavit Solidarity Support program. It consists of a discount of 75, 50 and 25% in the payment of monthly payments, ”said Sosa Novelo. “We detected that the main problem that 90% of borrowers miss this benefit is because they do not know how to navigate the portal, too bad, because this program ends in May 2022”.
What is the Infonavit Solidarity Support program?
He explained that this program Solidarity Support pays the entire payment for the month, but with a lesser amount of money due to the discount you can get. This program arose so that the worker does not lose the equity of his home. On average there are 11,000 to 15,000 borrowers who could receive a discount on the monthly payment, but only 10% take advantage of it.
“It is very unfortunate that only 1,200 to 1,000 people a month take advantage of these discounts. We are returning thousands of supports per month. It is the most important social project of Infonavit and it is being wasted ”, reiterated the lawyer Sosa Novelo.
Early Credit Liquidation Program
The same goes for the Early Credit Liquidation Program. Thousands of borrowers who have home loans for 30 years and who have already paid 20 years can enjoy a discount of up to 50% of the unpaid balance to pay off their mortgage. However, this social and economic program is not being used either. The only way to know the rightful owner’s debt is to consult it on the platform “my Infonavit account”, But again the digital divide in workers makes them waste this opportunity to liquidate their home.
“The participation of companies in this new campaign to promote Infonavit services that we will launch in 2022 will be important,” he said.
“As companies sensitize and support their employees, they will not only help them save money, protect their assets, but will create a feeling of gratitude and happiness towards the employer.”
Mortgage Cancellation Program
The Mortgage Cancellation program, Aimed at those who have already paid their credit, it is also another social support that Infonavit gives to workers. To reduce the great backwardness of the thousands of workers who have not completed this last procedure to have full and legal possession of their home, Infonavit launched the payment exemption program for workers who earn up to 2.8 minimum wages per day .
