Who are the most important and influential, the really big bands in metalcore? This question has itself Linn and Mike from the Core business podcast placed. Based on the Big 4 of Thrash Metal – Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax – the guys tried to adapt a corresponding list, only to find that it was almost impossible.

Which bands founded the genre and shaped it early on? Which ones are still relevant today? Who are the biggest names right now? Are Bring Me The Horizon actually a metalcore band and have Bad Omens already achieved enough to be considered? When putting together their personal favorites on the Mount Rushmore of the genre, Linn and Maik played a few mind games. We don’t want to spoil the names for you at this point, but one thing can be revealed: the list had to be extended a bit in the end in order to really cover the breadth of the genre.
