The Czech Grand Design Awards are an industry award given annually by the Academy of Design of the Czech Republic. The awards are given to personalities for the best achievements in the fields of design, fashion, photography, jewelry, illustration and graphic design.

This year’s Grand Designers, ie the absolute winners of the year across categories, were Eduard Herrmann and Matěj Coufal.

Architect, designer and pedagogue Jiří Pelcl was inducted into the Czech Design Hall of Fame tonight for his lifelong contribution to the field.

Instead of the traditional live broadcast from the Estates Theater, the ceremony was broadcast on Czech Television, due to the covidu-19 pandemic for the second year in a row. The prize, designed by last year’s Grand designer Lucie Koldová in the form of a mirror, will be accepted by the winners at a joint meeting in early June.
