These are the 5 Digital Wallets Most Used by Indonesian Citizens, Who’s the Winner? page all

JAKARTAKOMPAS.com – Competition for electronic money providers or digital wallet in the country is getting tighter, along with the increasing number of digital transactions in the community over the last few years.

A survey conducted by Populix shows that currently there are 5 electronic money that is most widely used by the people of Indonesia, namely: Gopay, OVO, Dana, Shopee Payand LinkAja.

The survey, entitled “Consumer Preference Towards Banking and e-Wallet Apps”, was conducted online on 1,000 respondents aged 18-55 in a number of major cities in Indonesia.

As a result, GoPay became the champion of the most widely used electronic money with a value of 88 percent, then followed by Dana 83 percent, OVO 79 percent, Shopee Pay 76 percent, and LinkAja 30 percent.

In the research mentioned a number of main reasons for popularity e-wallet which encourages increased use in people’s daily lives.

The highest point is because it makes transactions easier, then because it is integrated with e-Commerceand the third highest because it is easy to use.

The survey results also recorded the majority of transactions using e-Wallet is for payment e-Commercefollowed for payment for ojek transportation online/ride-hailingand top-up cell phone credit.

Which digital bank is the most used by Indonesian citizens?

The Populix survey also shows that digital banks are the most widely used by the public, where Bank Jago is the champion with 46 percent share, then Neo Bank 40 percent, followed by Jenius with 32 percent.

Just like e-Wallet, the increasing use of digital banking applications is mainly because it offers easy transactions, easy to use, saves time, lots of features, and easy to track financial transactions.

While in the Mobile Banking category, the application that is most widely used by the public is BCA Mobile owned by PT Bank BCA Tbk, followed by BRImo from PT Bank BRI Tbk, and Livin from PT Bank Mandiri Tbk.

“The digitalization of financial services has grown rapidly in recent years. Our survey results show that mobile banking and e-wallet are the two most widely used financial applications among all age groups, while digital banking tends to be popular among older respondents,” said Populix’s research team, quoted Thursday (21/7/ 2022).
