These are the 3 best selling smartphones of 2020

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Several research companies such as IDC, Canalys and Counterpoint have published their sales reports smartphone in the third quarter of 2020.

The three of them reported that Samsung became the best-selling brand, followed by brands from China, Huawei and Xiaomi.

IDC’s third quarter global smartphone market data shows that 353.6 million units have been shipped. This number is down 1.3% from 358.5 million units in the same period last year.

Samsung shipped 80.2 million units, an increase of 2.9% from last year.

For Huawei’s shipments of 51.9 million units, that figure is down 22 percent from last year, but sits in second place.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi in the third quarter grew 42% to 46.5 million units, ranking third, as quoted by Gizchina, October 30, 2020.

Meanwhile, data from the third quarter report on the global smartphone market, according to Canalys, showed global smartphone shipments fell 1% from last year, but rose 22% month-on-month.

In the third quarter of 2020, Samsung shipped 80.2 million units, Huawei 51.7 million units, and Xiaomi 47.1 million units.

Counterpoint specifically mentioned that in the third quarter of 2020, Samsung smartphone shipments reached 79.8 million, a 47% increase from the previous quarter, ranking first. Huawei smartphone shipments reached 50.9 million, down 7% from the previous month.

And Xiaomi’s shipments hit 46.2 million, an increase of 75% month over month. Other brands, Apple smartphone shipments reached 41.7 million, an increase of 11 percent, sales of OPPO cellphones reached 31 million, an increase of 26 percent.

It’s worth noting that Realme is in seventh position with 14.8 million shipments.

Abroad, Realme is further increasing its shipments after returning to the Cihna market.

Overall, shipments of OPPO and Realme smartphones reached 45.8 million units in the third quarter of 2020, overtaking Apple.
