On Tuesday, SvFF’s presented election committee the three main candidates to become the new chairman of the football association. Which ones were they? Fredrik Reinfeldt, Lars-Christer Olsson, Hélène Barnekow.

Former Prime Minister Reinfeldt is the most famous name of the three.

The Football Channel’s columnist Olof Lundh points out what speaks against Reinfeldt succeeding in becoming the new SvFF chairman.

– What he has against him is that he has no real anchoring in the football movement. He needs to convince those entitled to vote during the 45 minutes he has on January 24, says Lundh.

Each lead candidate will be introduced and answer questions for 45 minutes during a “Candidate Presentation” on January 24.

There are also things that speak for Reinfeldt. Lundh explains:

– His merits. He has been prime minister, he has been active in political life. A party resembles a popular movement in many ways and he is very interested in football. It’s also a bit pompous to have been prime minister, says Lundh.
