Where is Bremen the most beautiful? What must you see or do in the Hanseatic city? We provide answers to questions like these every week in the series “Bremen’s Best”. Strictly speaking, it is not us who provide the answers, but our readers, whom we regularly survey online. This time we wanted to know: What is the best insider tip for visitors to Bremen? This is how our users voted:
1. Rhododendron Park & Botanika (25% of readers’ votes)
According to the park operators, the largest rhododendron collection in the world and the nature experience center are not only “beautiful” and an “oasis of peace” according to our users, but also have something for visitors of all ages. A user on weser-kurier.de writes: “The most beautiful place in Bremen, especially when the rhododendrons and azaleas are in bloom.”

2. Drink Krabbeldiewandenuff in the iron (14 %)
Tourists who want to experience Bremen’s nightlife cannot miss the cult pub and its exceptional selection of liquor – and the fiery, spicy Krabbeldiewandenuff, for which the Eisen is known beyond Bremen’s borders. “A very good tip,” writes one user on weser-kurier.de, “but you shouldn’t plan to go until the evening.”

3. Bunker Valentin (13 %)
The largest free-standing bunker complex in Germany, which was used by the National Socialists as a submarine shipyard, is worth a visit not only because of its impressive dimensions. Since 2015, the building in the north of Bremen has served as a place of remembrance and learning and is often the backdrop for art and other cultural events.

4. Walk and café visit in Knoops Park (10%)
The park in Burglesum, which was designed in the 19th century like the Bürgerpark by Wilhelm Benque, is located directly on the banks of the Lesum and invites visitors to take a stroll, visit the playground or café with a view of the water. A special highlight: In summer, the park is transformed into a stage for a classical music festival during “Summer in Lesmona”.
