These are Bill Gates’ habits that made him successful and become a rich person

One of the richest people in the world, Bill Gates, has habits that have kept him successful even though he no longer controls Microsoft. Bill Gates himself is now an international philanthropist by managing the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The habit that Bill Gates continues to do today is reading and learning other things, especially about health. Bill Gates is also known as a person who is a voracious reader.

“I was lucky enough because when someone else took over Microsoft, I was able to read and learn about all the health challenges, why children were dying,” said Bill Gates, quoted from CNBCMonday (4/12/2023).

One example was when he and his wife Melinda French Gates read an article in 1997 about children all over the world who were dying from diseases that were easily cured in the United States, such as AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis.

Then, he and his wife learned about the global health crisis. This case became the starting point for the establishment of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as his main focus to date. The formation of the social foundation was from high curiosity and reading.

Her ability to research thoroughly and synthesize information effectively through reading helps her understand health disparities, identify areas where her money can help and provide potential solutions to the wider community.

“Reading sparked a sense of curiosity about the world, which I think helped propel me forward in my career and the work I do now with my foundation,” Gates told Time in 2017.

Since 2000, the foundation has spent $53.8 billion fighting global health crises such as AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, according to its website.

According to Gates’ estimates, this policy played an important role in halving the number of deaths of children under 5 years of age each year although it was criticized by political scientists and development experts for its lack of transparency and oversight, as well as the difficulty in measuring its impact.
