These are 9 Ahwa Chosen at the 34th NU Congress in Lampung, Khos Ulama who Voted for Rais Aam PBNU

BANDAR LAMPUNG, KOMPAS.TV – The 34th NU congress in Lampung which was held since Wednesday (12/22/2021) yesterday gave birth to 9 Ahwa, a term for special or special ulama in NU to elect Rais Aam PBNU. The names of Ahwa were selected from the proposals of the Branch Managers (PC) and Regional Managers (PW) as well as overseas Special branches to elect 9 special scholars.

As a system, Ahwa was introduced at the NU Congress in Jombang in 2015. At that time, the scholars in Ahwa discussed, agreed together and chose KH Mustofa Bisri as Rais Aam PBNU.

However, Gus Mus generously refused the mandate. Through a touching letter, Gus Mus felt that he did not deserve to be Rais Aam PBNU. However, because of that letter, the Ahwa chose Gus Mus.

“It is precisely Gus Mus’ letter of unwillingness that is the reason we chose Gus Mus. He deserves to be the supreme leader of NU because he is humble and has no lust and ambition in terms of power,” said the trial leader, KH Ma’ruf Amin conveying Mbah Maimun’s message from the results of the Ahwa Team trial before the 2015 Muktamirin as quoted on the official NU website.

Ahwa then discussed again and finally the scholars at Ahwa chose KH Ma’ruf Amin as Rais Aam PBNU.

When he became vice president, KH Ma’ruf Amin left the position of Rais Aam PBNU and elected KH Miftachul Achyar as Rais PBNU.

Now at the 34th NU Congress in Lampung, a new PBNU Rais Aam was elected with a term of office 2021-2026.

Here are 9 Ahwa names who will choose PBNU:

1. KH Mustofa Bisri or Gus Mus from Central Java.

2. KH Ma’ruf Amin, Banten. Ulama and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. He is also a former Rais Aam PBNU and is currently a mustasyar PBNU

3. KH Miftachul Ahyar from East Java. Ulama who served as PBNU Rais Aam, the highest leader in NU

4. KH Dimyati Rais, charismatic kiai from Kaliwungu, Kendal. One of the mustasyar PBNU.

5. Gurutta Turmudzi Badarudin from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Charismatic scholar of pesantren Nurul Huda, NTB

6. KH Anwar Mansur, East Java scholar

7. KH Nurul Huda Jazuli from East Java

8. Buya Akbar Marbun from North Sumatra

9. KH Zainal Abidin from Central Sulawesi
