Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – In the context of implementing the 5G network, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) announced that the first 13 regions in Indonesia will get this super fast internet.
This area is included in the 2020-2024 Strategic Plan in Ministerial Regulation Number 2 of 2021 concerning the Kominfo Strategic Plan.
In more detail, six provincial capitals on the island of Java have become a priority, namely, Jakarta, Serang, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. Kominfo said the location was chosen because it was considered feasible from the market potential and infrastructure support.

In addition, the 5G network will also be available in five super priority tourist destinations. Includes Labuhan Bajo (NTT), Mandalika (NTB), Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Likupang (North Sulawesi), and Borobodur (Central Java).
While the rest are the new state capital (IKN) and a manufacturing industry. Especially for IKN, an overall plan for the implementation of 5G will be needed, including regarding the design of ICT infrastructure.
IKN is said to have covered fiber optic networks and 4G mobile cellular services. The region is also said to be ready to implement 5G technology.
