When fried, the food loses water and absorbs fat, increasing its calorie content. For example, one serving of baked potato usually contains 93 calories and 0 grams of fat.
But when fried, potatoes will contain 319 calories and 17 grams of fat. Likewise, 100 grams of grilled cod filet contains only 105 calories and 1 gram of fat.
When fried, the calorie content will increase to 232 calories and 12 grams of fat.

2. High in Trans Fat

Trans fats are fats that are formed when unsaturated fats are hydrogenated. Usually food manufacturers often hydrogenate fats using high pressure and hydrogen gas.
This process is carried out to increase shelf life and stability. Hydrogenation can also occur when oil is heated to very high temperatures during cooking.
This process will change the chemical structure of fat, making it difficult for the body to break down. Especially using vegetable oil or from processed seeds that may contain trans fats before heating.
