1. Milk
Milk and other dairy products such as yogurt and cheese contain sugar in the form of lactose. But this is an important food group that people with diabetes can eat. Milk contains protein and calcium which are good for health.
Protein is needed to maintain endurance, metabolic health and maintain muscle mass. Research conducted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) shows the minerals in milk are needed to maintain healthy heart, muscle, and bone.
