However, certain teas are safe for diabetics.

The following teas are safe to consume diabetics:
1. Green tea
Green tea contains catechins or the antioxidant epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).
These substances can lower blood sugar levels by stimulating the absorption of glucose into skeletal muscle cells.
It means, green tea may be of benefit to people with diabetes and who wish to prevent it.
2. Black tea
Research in the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that consumption of black tea with sugary drinks can reduce blood sugar levels in people with prediabetes.
