TRIBUNBATAM.id – Entering August 2021, the National Aeronautics and Space Institute (Lapan) Space Science Center released a list of sky phenomenon will happen.
In the upload to the Instagram account @pussainsa_lapan, Sunday (1/8/2021), there were at least 4 astronomical phenomena that occurred in August.
Here are some astrological phenomena that we can witness in August 2021:
1. The peak of the Perseid meteor shower
The Perseid Meteor Shower will occur from July 17 to August 24, 2021.
However, the peak of the Perseid Meteor shower will occur on August 12-13, 2021.
This meteor shower comes from the dust remnants of comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle.
We can watch meteor showers from north to northwest, starting at midnight local time.
The duration of the meteor shower is about 20 minutes. Meteor showers that appear in Indonesia, reaching 60-90 meteors every hour with a meteor speed of 212,400 km/hour.
