In April 1993, during a visit to the video club “Video Archives” located in Los Angeles on the occasion of the VHS release of Reservoir Dogs, the American director spoke in the French documentary “Tarantino – Cinema in the Skin ”. This is one of the best films ever made and I would take it with me for sure. Ricky Nelson is so cool in this movie. Dead Martin gives one of the best performances ever too. The actors are important to me. So (John) Travolta and Dean Martin. From here, we go to the “Laserdiscs” section, passing the English ones, the classics, but also this pretty poster of Reservoir Dogs. Best of the Best would be the third film that I… No, I wouldn’t take Best of the Best with me, OK. In the “Laserdiscs” section, we find the Criterion version of Taxi Driver by Martin Scorsese with… let’s see… Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, Martin Scorsese, but not Harvey Keitel (absent on the cover). Weird considering it’s one of the best roles in the film as Sport. Taxi Driver would therefore be one of the films that I would take with me. Quentin Tarantino is not the most prolific Hollywood director, but he is one of the most influential still working. In the space of 32 years, the director of Reservoir Dogs, the Kill Bill diptych and Boulevard of Death has directed 10 films and not one more.
