These 3 companies own the most bitcoins (BTC)

With the bitcoin (BTC) rate above $60,000, people and companies that invested early in BTC are experiencing golden times. Large bitcoin owners such as MicroStrategy and Tesla are in good shape, according to the current report data of Bitcoin Treasuries. Which companies invested the most in bitcoin, and what are their bitcoins worth now?

3. Square – 8.027 bitcoins

In third place we find Square, a company that offers payment solutions. The company’s CEO is none other than Jack Dorsey, who is also the CEO of Twitter. He is known to be a true Bitcoiner. It is therefore not surprising that Square has 8,027 bitcoins in its reserves. The cost of these bitcoins was $220 million, an investment that is now worth $490.9 million!

Square is of course also very active in the broad crypto sector. For example, the company is working on the development of a new hardware wallet. It also collaborates with Jay-Z to music platform Tidal.

2. Tesla – 43.200 bitcoins

The second place is for the well-known electric car manufacturer Tesla. Company single-handedly caused a rapid bitcoin price rise in February this year. Then Tesla announced that it had bought $1.5 billion in bitcoin and that it would accept bitcoin for payments. The manufacturer has come back to the latter due to concerns about the high consumption of Bitcoin, something that is not in line with Tesla’s mission. Tesla still owns those bitcoins, which are now worth $2.6 billion.

1. MicroStrategy – 114.041 bitcoins

The absolute king and figurehead of bitcoin adoption as a store of value is of course MicroStrategy. That company was the first to officially include bitcoin in its cash policy and has been regularly buying millions of dollars worth of bitcoin ever since. MicroStrategy now owns 114,041 bitcoins that it bought for an average price of $3.1 billion. Those bitcoins are now worth $6.9 billion, so not a bad return!
